Frequently asked questions
How do the five boxes work?
Every new word starts in Box 1. You study it first, and from the next day it is reviewed. If you remember it, it moves to the next box and comes back less often (Box 1 every day, Box 2 every 2 days, Box 3 every 4, Box 4 every 8, Box 5 every 16 days). If you forget it, it goes back to Box 1. A word you remember in Box 5 is learned.
I did not receive my sign-in code.
Check your spam or junk folder and make sure the email address is spelled correctly. Codes come from no-reply@vocaloom.app and are valid for 10 minutes. You can request a new code after 60 seconds. If it still does not arrive, write to support@vocaloom.app.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → VocaLoom → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your words and progress stay when Premium ends.
How do I get a refund?
App Store purchases are refunded by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. See also section 8 of our Terms of Use.
I changed my iPhone. How do I restore Premium and my words?
Sign in with the same email address: your words and progress come back. For Premium, open Premium in the app and tap “Restore purchases” with the same Apple ID you used to buy.
How do I export or delete my data?
Export: Settings → Account & Backup → Export (spreadsheet or backup file). Delete: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and its synced data from our server.
A translation or example is wrong.
Open the word and tap Edit to correct any field, or use “Report a problem” on the card so we can fix it for everyone.
Why can I not add more words on the free plan?
The free plan includes 100 new words, plus extra words you earn by inviting friends. All your saved words and their reviews stay available forever. Premium removes the limit.
I hear no pronunciation.
Turn up the volume and check that your iPhone is not in silent mode. VocaLoom uses the voices installed on your iPhone; for a better voice go to iOS Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices.
